Foundational Things

When we tell you this, we do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. 1 Corinthians 2:13 NLT

34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. 35 A good person produces good words from a good heart, and an evil person produces evil words from an evil heart. 36 And I tell you this, that you must give an account on judgment day of every idle word you speak. 37 The words you say now reflect your fate then; either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned."  Matthew 12:34-37

18 Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions. 1 John 3:18

My Story

It is pretty simple I suppose.  I have been called to Preach, Teach and Reach. That is I am to use every fiber of my being, body, heart and soul to do the will of God.

It was not always that simple however.  I was not always sure what I was suppose to do with what I have because to me, what I did, did not fit together.  I could do a lot of things, but I could not just do one thing well.  So it would seem that I was torn between what I wanted to do, what I thought I should be doing and what God has called me to do. Struggling like this is tiring and goes no where fast and somewhere slow.

It was not unti I realized that everything is connected.  To do one is to do them all and so I began to try to see the connections and understand them. The principle was simple, but the practice was a challenge and still is. In all of us, we have our past.  Events that have shaped our attitudes, belief systems, tendencies and idiosyncrasies. Changing requires something greater than just saying it.  One has to change what they believe before they can change how they behave. I to decide on what I was going to believe and I chose God's word, his truth, his promise.

I believe that God is who he says he is through his word we call the bible.  I believe that Jesus did what he did as prophesied and fulfilled in the bible.  I believe that Holy Ghost ever present in my life reminding me of what God has, is and will do and what Christ has, is and will do. So the paradigm shifted when I understood that God has given me what I have so that I can reach his people.  I preach to reach his people, Teach to reach his people and through my gifts, skills and talents I reach people. So whether I am in the pulpit, on the corner, in the classroom or on a stage

Say the Word

It started in the summer of 1985 while working for an engineering firm.  I had the chance to work on a Macintosh XL and so began my computer graphics business model that has grown into more of a ministry.  At first "Say the Word" simply meant, I would work on a project until someone said it was good enough. My slogan was, "it's not right until you say the word." I know right.  For 26 years have been carrying this same theme around in me.  Over time as I was called into the ministry, say the word, meant say what God's says; which is what I do.
